Theme for game concepts: change
Timeloop Tinker
This game focuses on time as the source of change. This would be a resource management game where the player is presented with a series of situations where they look for the best possible outcome in each, with the outcome of the previous situation leading into the next.
The twist is in the allowance of time travel, which would allow sending things back in time to previous problems, possibly giving a better solution when that problem is replayed, which leads into a chain of events where every problem ends up a little different.
Eventually this time travel can lead to paradoxes or chicken-egg problems with past events depending on future events in a very hands-on understandable way.
I could see the game idea lending itself well to perhaps three different genres:
1. a puzzle/strategy game requiring careful use of time travel to reach the goal.
2. a combat game where you must send weapons, equipment or allies back in time to help with previous conflicts.
3. an open ended resource management game with a more relaxed, zen feel.
Monetary mayhem
Inspired by the play on words of the word "change" to mean small delineations of currency. The game focuses on trading between various currencies and playing off their values against each other, with the value of each currency in constant flux.
As different events occur, currencies can explode chaotically into hyper inflation or deflation, the player can influence them both directly with bribes and indirectly by buying and selling currencies at the right time.
This leaves a lot open to interpretation on what the currency is actually for, some avenues it could go down:
1. A roguelike/combat game where different currencies allow casting different attacks/spells, move medieval focused.
2. A more modern focused business game where the player can hire employees and/or invest in businesses to generate more currency and convert it into different types
Hueshift
A platformer where you must navigate as a chameleon between platforms of different colours. Each coloured platform would have an affect on your character's colour and would give different abilities that could help or hinder your navigation in the world.
The game could focus on stealth (like a chameleon classically might), combat (playing up the abilities to be less movement and more aggression focused), or on more open ended movement and platforming, with minimal or no enemies, other than failure to climb up or cross gaps.
